On Monday we finished Revelation 22 and then spent some time reviewing in the morning. I felt my students really knew the material well and learned a lot in the time that we had together and that showed up in the review time. I was looking at some of the oral questions on the exam and giving those out as review questions as well as asking things that were not on the exam. I actually ran out of things to ask about before it was time to break for lunch
We came home with Janet for lunch because she teaches the ladies at the Seminary on Monday. Last week, our driver forgot to come get us on Monday because of that and so we were a little concerned that would happen again this week. It was important for us to get back because both Clancy and I were giving our final exams in the afternoon.
Sure enough, Samuel didn't show up when it was time to head back. I called Dr. Ngoumape and he said that he had recently talked to Samuel and he assured us that he was on the way. After waiting another half hour or more, I tried calling again to tell him that he had not yet shown up. He once again assured me that he was coming and then did show up a few minutes later. Samuel knew he was late and drove like a maniac to get us back to the seminary. We were dodging and swerving cars and motorcycles and buses all over the road. Just the way they drive in Africa!
When we got back the students were very grateful. I assured them that we had plenty of time to get the exam done and so we started in. I had a 20 question oral exam that Cyriaque would translate as I asked the questions and then the complete timeline for the book of Revelation. The final exam was 1/3 of their grade.
They all did very very well.
