Classes started

We got to the seminary about 8:00 this morning and were welcomed by Theodore and Dr. Ngoumape.  Theodore gave me the traditional African greeting of on head bump on one side of my head followed by two head bumps on the other side.

We talked for a few moments in his office and then went to our classes.  I was originally told that I would have 7 students in my class only to find out today that I have 15!  Needless to say, I didn’t have enough syllabuses printed off to give each student and am hoping I can get them done for class tomorrow.  It is not easy to find 350 or so pieces of paper and the ink needed to print them on.

Class went well for the first day, but we will definitely have to pick up the pace in order to get done.  We made it through part of Revelation 2 and are getting ready to start on the Church in Smyrna tomorrow.  I have both 3rd and 4th year students and Cyriac is my translator.  He used to work for Project Hope and Charity before coming to the seminary as a full time student and translator when needed.  From what I can tell, he has done a very good job.
