Dr. Hibale

After lunch today, Clancy and I both laid down to rest for a little while.  Clancy was in the room and I just laid down on the couch here to rest.  I was out cold and Ann came running up the steps yelling, "Pastor Jason, Pastor Jason, someone is here to see you." I groggily woke up and in walked Dr. Augustin Hibale one of the very gifted leaders here in Africa.

Hibale served as my translator when I was here last time in one of my churches and has a ministry called Cidel.  He travels to many of the countries of Africa and meets with their government leaders and sometimes even the presidents of these countries to teach them about ethics in these areas of their lives.  So many of the politicians in Africa are corrupt and Hibale's organization is making a noticeable difference in these countries.

He shared one story in the short amount of time that we had that he recently got back from Liberia where he has been several times and Cidel has done workshops and training in for the last 4 years.  The country has gone from being about 140 on the list of the governments that are least corrupt to somewhere in the 80th place in just 4 years.  He was extremely encouraged by the great progress that has been made in only 4 years.

He also shared that he received a letter from a Nobel Peace Price winner thanking him for his work in that country to help teach and train the political leaders to lead ethically.

Hibale then asked us if we had plans on Wednesday night next week and we told him that we had none that we knew of.  Clancy and I will be joining John Jones at his house that night for dinner with his wife.  I am looking forward to that time before we leave.
