Finally here!

Well we finally made the long trip here, got to the mission and got settled. The flights were all good and came off without a hitch. I kind of forgot how long they were though :)

The team is sitting around and talking now and I am working on a blog post to send along.

We were met at the airport by Tim Hock and I remembered the routine and had all of my stuff done and checked with my passport and visa while Tim gathered the rest of the groups to do all of the work for them. We were joined in Paris by Doug and Jackie Jenson who were leaving Norton, Ohio to come be full time missionaries here as a second career now that their children are older.

We were also joined by John Jones who is the pastor of our Marion GBC. He is travelling with Mboi Andre to the eastern part of the country to do some evangelism training there so we will probably not see him until we are ready to leave.

We were also greeted by Dr. Ngoumape who is the president of the seminary and were told that Clancy and I will start to teach tomorrow morning (Thursday) at 8 am and teach a full day. I wasn’t really expecting to hit the ground running and thought we would teach in the afternoon after having the morning to get a little bit of rest and over the jet lag some.

They do have a new rule here that the teams get to use the wireless internet here at the guest house so I do hope to be able to connect with all of the people that I love through Skype a little more frequently than I have before. The only issue so far is that I cannot get the signal on my computer and the signal is so weak on my phone and iPod that I can’t do anything with it. Soooo, we will see.

It is 4:30 pm in Ohio right now and 9:30 pm here. Pray for tomorrow that Clancy and I will get off to a good start with the students teaching and connecting with them and getting to know them. Pray for a good night’s sleep and to get over any jet lag we might face so that we can be effective as possible.
