Simple Math

Today at the gas station I noticed that gas is 800 cfa per liter.  There are 460 cfa in 1 American dollar and 3.2 liters in a gallon of gas.  Sooooooo. . . .

800/460= $1.74 per liter

1.74 X 3.2= $5.57 per gallon.

If families live on about $1 per day - a gallon of gas takes more than one weeks worth of pay for them to buy.

That would simply be the equivalent of us spending $500 or $750 or $1000 for one gallon of gas or the equivalent of what we would make in a week.

Kind of puts things in perspective.  I don't think I have complained about the price of gas recently and now I definitely won't.

Only when gas becomes more expensive per gallon than I make in a week will I complain.

Nuff said!
