Wednesday December 7

What a great day!  I am not sure that I will be able to fit all the great things that happened today in one blog update.

First, I was able to deliver all the packages that people from my church sent to their orphans.  I had several that were left for today and I wasn't sure I would be able to meet them, but God worked it all out and I was thankful for that privilege.

Second, we were able to go out to the Widow Garden (a plot of land that PHC owns outside of town - widows are allowed to garden there and sell the vegetables to help support them.)  While we were there, Cyriaque, Jason's translator while he was teaching, came over to see us.  He was looking for me because Jason had told him I was coming.

He told me to tell Jason that he had already been able to use the information that he had learned in his class.  It was such a cool moment to connect our trips.

Third, our girls really have been wanting to sponsor a girl orphan.  So while I was here, I found a girl, Gypsie, for our family to "adopt."  Through a series of events that were out of my control, she went home for the day before I was able to meet her.  I was a little bummed to have come 8000 miles and not able to say hello.  But, God was so good.  We unexpectedly found her brother who stayed after school and took us to her house.  We were then able to talk to her, her two brothers, and her grandmother who she lives with.  It was a really cool experience to see her home and meet her family.

So many other cool moments but I will wait for another time to share.  Tomorrow we begin our long day home - we will wake up at 4 am to head to the airport and begin to travel west.  Thanks for your prayers - we can feel them here.
