Today has been an interesting day. Not at all what we had planned - and yet when you leave your home environment it is to be expected that things won't go as planned. Here in Africa we say "TIA" - this is Africa. We had planned to start taking pictures of the High School students today, but at the last minute plans had to change.
So instead we went shopping! Not exactly like black Friday shopping in the states, but just as crowded. Picture a mile and a half of wooden shacks lining a busy street. Thousands of shoppers, cars, vans, kids, animals - all trying to maneuver through the same areas. It's 95 degrees and no air is moving. Then picture three white women in a sea of black faces - and imagine the stir that we caused. We purchased sugar, coffee, notebooks, and sardines. They were very nice to us - even bringing stools for us to sit on while Barb shopped. Brenda and I felt a little silly, but again - TIA! We are not allowed to take pictures, but other people have - I found several videos on youtube if you are interested. Here's one:

Thank you for your prayers so far. We have had several moments of small surprises - including being upgraded to the bulk head row on the flight to Paris - to allow us extra leg room - that we give credit to God and to you all for your prayers for us. Please continue to pray that we will be flexible, adaptable, and diligent ambassador's for God no matter the situation.
