The night was a wonderfully cool night again and I slept great. . . almost too great. The power has been going off about 5:00 every morning and I typically at least stir and move around a little bit. Last night, the power never went off and I heard someone come in about 6:20 or so asking if I was awake. It was Janet walking in to tell me that my translator was here to pick me up and take me to church. Oh, by the way, he was on his little 125cc motorbike.
Well Janet told him that no one informed me who was coming from the church or what time they were coming and they were going to have to wait for me to get dressed and ready. So I didn't get a chance to shower or shave (it has been a few days since I have shaved and I look pretty scraggly.) I just put on my African suit, grabbed a protein bar and went out the door.
When I got downstairs, Janet told me that she told the translator that she would bring me to church today as long as someone was able to bring me home when the service was done. So I had a little bit more time to get there. We left the mission at 7:00 this morning and the French service started at 7:30.
Whew - I think it is every pastor's nightmare to sleep through church somehow - either an alarm not going off or something. My nightmare almost came true today!
