Thanksgiving Day

This morning we had "Thanksgiving Coffee Break" at 10 am with the missionaries.  We had homemade cinnamon rolls, pumpkin bars, and maple sticks.  And of course, fresh Disciple Sip coffee.  It was a short time of fellowship with the Doug and Jacquie Jensen, Heidi Sisson, Janet Varner, and the Flannigans - the missionaries who live here, Mark Simms, Harry Walker, Greg Burgess - visiting missionaries from France, and Barb Wooler, Brenda and I.
After our coffee break we started working on the cards for the orphans.
At 2 pm we went to the American Ambassador's house for a late lunch.  It was all the favorites - turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, cherry cobbler and much much more.  We met other missionaries and many people who work for organizations like Unicef.  We sat outside in the back yard in the shade - sweating during Thanksgiving is not normal for me - but it was a fun day.  Several of the missionaries got to telling stories and we laughed so hard we were crying at one point.  We didn't take our camera, so I don't have pictures to post.  But Greg Burgess took his, so I am hoping to share pictures from his camera with you soon.
This evening we finished up the cards we were working on and had a late supper of taco soup.  Mmmm - doesn't soup sound good when the weather is in the 80's.  Actually it was very good and the fellowship around the table was great too.  I am very thankful for the time I get to spend with missionaries while I am here.  I love to hear their stories and see how God has worked in their lives.
I also got to talk to my family today while they were getting ready to eat.
Tomorrow we start early and head to the Orphan Center to take pictures.
